I'm Patrick Kirby, and I'm running to be your next Washington County Commissioner.

I'm not a career politician. I'm a physical therapy technician who works right here in Washington County. I married into a family with deep roots in this community, and every day at work, I see the real challenges our neighbors face.

I see patients who can't afford their co-pays. Families choosing between medication and groceries. Working people who are one emergency away from crisis.

This isn't an abstract policy problem. These are our neighbors. Our community members. People doing everything right and still struggling.

Why I'm Running

Washington County deserves commissioners who listen to the community, ask hard questions, and actually solve problems—not just manage them.

For too long, our leadership has treated symptoms instead of root causes:

  • We build more shelters without asking why people lose their homes

  • Mental health and addiction services fail people in their moment of need

  • 30% of our families struggle despite working full-time jobs

  • Our schools don't get the funding they need to give every kid a fair shot

I'm 30 years old, married into a family with deep Washington County roots, and I'm running to be the county's first openly gay Commissioner. Our government should represent everyone in our community—and that starts with having diverse voices at the table who are willing to ask hard questions and fight for real change.

We can do better. And together, we will.
